(Took an old photo from my Scraps. It's the only decent Taku photo I have; it was oversaturated a bit, so I made it sepia.)

That song always makes me tear up a bit, and lately it's been reminding me of him. Of course, I never knew him personally, but the whole orca-loving community has known him for so long and he's made such a big impression on us that it seems like he was a friend to us all.
So I felt that I should dedicate a piece to Taku. His death made a huge impact on the captive orca world. Rest in piece, big guy. We love ya. :heart:

The sepia was a very good choice for him. Fits perfectly and the atmosphere you created with this picture brings tears to my eyes :(

Oh wow... this is a gorgeous picture... And I know that he'd gone, but why? Just.. old age or what? Because I really didn't find out until DA ya know? :/

Oh, beautiful :) Such a lovely photo and the song fits so nicely. I know what you mean - I never knew him at all, but he was so well known, it feels like I did.

They don't know yet. Shortly before he passed, the crew got word that he wasn't well. So it's a bit mysterious, but I suspect it had something to do with the move to SWT.

Love this oversaturatedness, actually. It works well here to create simplicity. :nod: Perfect composition too.

This weekend work was hard. Taku's on the front of the photo folders, so I had to look at him so often. Sigh, I even have baby Taku on my wall. He was alive when hung it up. :/
